Summary

4 Wednesday evenings starting Nov 20, Dec 4, Dec 11, Dec 18 from 6:30 PM - 9 PM each evening

The scripture readings for the four Sundays of Advent this year speak to different areas of our lives.

  • The First Readings address both people under siege and those in exile. How might these bright and hopeful pieces locate us in our lives?

  • The psalms ask us to be taught by God. What does that look like for you this Advent?

  • The Second Readings are both prayers for the church and instructions for how to live now. How do these move you?

  • The first three Gospels come from Luke’s apocalyptic section and from the ministry of John the Baptist. These are quite challenging! The gospel for the Fourth Week narrates the Visitation – Elizabeth’s greeting of Mary.

As you come to the study, notice what is moving in you in the context of our culture and the marketplace of the world. We will invite the Word to speak to each of us individually, where we are during Advent.
