What are the benefits of a Digital Detox Retreat at Bellarmine?

Our retreats help you to step away and disconnect from the worries of everyday life. Without interruptions, they help you have the space to reflect and refocus. Our bedrooms have no TVs or screens so that you can un-plug. Our retreats help people by:

  • Restoring and renewing their energy

  • Reducing stress and providing time to process life events

  • Deepening self-awareness and discovering new insights

  • Stepping away from technology - especially social media - and reducing screen time

  • Improving sleep, enhancing mindfulness, and often improving their relationship with God or a higher power

All components of our retreats are optional. You do not need to attend any talks, small group sessions, prayer services, etc. It’s your time to relax and disconnect. However, we ask all retreatants to respect the quiet so everyone can enjoy our sacred space in silence, or near silence depending on the retreat.

Silent versus Semi-Silent: While most of our retreats are silent, we do offer a few semi-silent retreats, which allow people to talk during meal times and which sometimes offer some small group discussions.

Our retreats are based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, which have helped people for almost 500 years to let go of pre-occupations, to discover the deepest desires that God speaks to their souls, and to open up new possibilities in their lives.

We invite you to embrace a weekend to experience the quiet and find the peace that can help you relax, rejuvenate, and return renewed with deeper meaning and focus.

Our upcoming retreats that allow you to detox from digital media include:

Summary

Jesus promised, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” On this sacred day of reflection, we gather to rest in the assurance of His constant presence. Through Scripture, we will listen for the gentle whisper of His voice. In prayerful silence, we will open our hearts to the Spirit moving within. As we remember moments of grace in our lives, we will recognize the footprints of Christ walking beside us. And in faith-sharing with fellow pilgrims, we will glimpse the face of Jesus in one another.

Come away for a while and be renewed by the quiet beauty of the day—a time to encounter the living Christ who is already here, waiting to meet you in the stillness.
