Meditation Retreats

"For it is in realizing and relishing things interiorly, that contents and satisfies the soul."

What are the benefits of a Meditation Retreat at Bellarmine?

Our meditation retreats help you to step away and disconnect from the worries of everyday life. They help you reflect and refocus, and include a meditative component that helps you:

  • Strengthen your meditation skills

  • Improve your ability to manage stress and anxiety

  • More deeply connect to yourself and your sense of purpose

Our retreats are based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, which have helped people for almost 500 years to let go of pre-occupations, to discover the deepest desires that God speaks to their souls, and to open up new possibilities in their lives.

We invite you to embrace a weekend to experience the quiet and find the peace that can help you relax, rejuvenate, and return renewed with deeper meaning and focus.

The retreats we offer that include meditation components are listed below. Each retreat offers a non-judgmental, positive space of quiet contemplation.

Our upcoming meditation retreats include:

Writing Retreat: Epiphanies’ of Beauty »»

An Ignatian, Semi-Slient Extended Weekend Retreat for Adults

Details

October 1 - 4, 2026
Suggested Contribution: $495.00 per person
Retreat Leader: Carla Galdo

Groups Attending: Individuals

Summary

Saint John Paul II exhorted artists “passionately dedicated to the search for new ‘epiphanies’ of beauty” to offer their creative works “as gifts to the world.” As writers, artists, or thoughtful people who feel called to the crafting of language, how can we best receive God’s world, in all of its grit and glory, and offer it back as gift through our works? Poets, novelists, saints, and other writers have grappled with this question over the years; we will explore some of their reflections, while also taking intentional time for prayer, worship, meditation, and personal writing.
