Summary
A Virtual Retreat with Fr. Bill Creed, SJ & co-facilitator Fr. Roger Yaworski, SJ
The Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius Loyola have been a powerful and resilient force in shaping Christian life and spirituality. Saint Ignatius Loyola believed that well-designed spiritual exercises can help improve and renew one’s spiritual life just as well-designed physical exercises can help improve and renew one’s physical life.
Louis M. Savary states: “The New Spiritual Exercises: In the Spirit of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin" focuses on the graces and blessings God gives for consciously creating a positive difference in our world. They are based on the scriptural revelation that God has a great project going on - much more than keeping souls from falling into sin and hell - and that we are all invited to become fully and actively involved in this divine project…In The New Spiritual Exercises you are invited to become a co-creator with God with the divine vision formulated by Jesus: 'That all may be one' (John 17:21).”
Note: Retreatants are encouraged to arrange regular spiritual direction independently to support this journey.

Summary
Let’s sit together with the Blind Beggar, Bartimaeus at the crossroads to engage the Jesus of Mark’s gospel through the text. The Twelve are there. And other disciples. The scribes and Pharisees are there. Our interaction with all of them through the text will open surprising connections between us. We may discover our own inner blindness, our own fear, anger and shame, our own need for healing, that we become willing to look up and call to Jesus. This prayerful and hopeful book invites us to see that the parts of ourselves we most want to hide from are the very things that open to us the Path to Life, to joyous life in Christ.
Fr Roc O’Connor, SJ will facilitate the book study of his book, I Want to See: What the Story of Blind Bartimaeus Teaches Us about Fear, Surrender and Walking the Path to Joy.

Growing our Gratitude through The Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life
will be offered online from January 15 to June 25, 2027, through Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House. St Ignatius thought that ingratitude is the most detested sin which leads to all other evils. Melody Beattie wrote: Gratitude turns a house into a home, a meal into a feast, a mistake into an opportunity. Brother David Steindl-Rast called gratitude the path to world peace because if you are grateful, you are not fearful, you are not violent. Fr. Bill Creed, SJ has noted that when we look into the face of our enemy with gratitude in our hearts, we see our sister and our brother. Gratitude is personal, interpersonal, social and systemic.
Note: Retreatants are encouraged to arrange regular spiritual direction independently to support this journey.

Summary
As we rejoice in the new dawn of the Risen Christ, you are invited to an at‑home virtual retreat to reflect on your own pilgrim path toward the Feast of Pentecost. What does your “Yes” to the Call of Christ mean in your life today? How does our Interior Joy and Consolation of the 4th week of the Spiritual Exercises ready us for the Holy Spirit to work through you in the world? What does it look like to live as an Easter person—rooted in Divine Love and intense joy, and learning to walk together in the synodal way of the Church? Over seven weekly gatherings, we will explore these and related questions, drawing wisdom from St. Ignatius and other key voices across the centuries and from one another’s lived experience.

Summary
In Mass Divisions Roc O’Connor, SJ explores the inner landscapes of persons in our country and church, marked as we are by precarious divisions, to offer a spirituality for these times: How is it that adult disciples engage Word and Sacrament and not bear fruit of oneness, charity, and reconciliation? This thoughtful work delves into the roots of the false self with compassion to allow us to become available for a new relationship with Christ Incarnate, who has always been present in those places we avoid.
Fr Roc O’Connor, SJ will facilitate the book study of his 2026 book, Mass Divisions: That the Cause of our Downfall Might Become the Means of Our Salvation which will be available for purchase in the fall of 2026.
