Retreat Leader

Holly Schapker

In 2007, artist Holly Schapker made a pilgrimage to Spain and Rome to learn about St. Ignatius of Loyola. Through the 19th Annotation retreat, Holly integrated the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius into her daily life. These experiences changed her life and her art in a profound way. In keeping with St. Ignatius' devotion to Our Blessed Mother, Holly created a painting exhibition based on Mary for the Marian Library at the University of Dayton. She has traveled the nation presenting her evangelical paintings and continues to give lectures on the creative process and Ignatian Spirituality. Her works have been published and displayed worldwide. Even Pope Francis attained a portrait of the pope's mother that Holly painted which was presented to him in Vatican City. Holly resides and paints in Cincinnati, Ohio.
